African dishes are several with different recipes, preparations, and spices that can be passed down from generation to generation. Each tribe has their own unique dishes and traditions. Some of the dishes are easy to prepare and low-cost. There are times when money can be a problem to cook that African meal in Canada. Here are some of the African meals to cook with less money;

                                                                    

  1. Jollof Rice: Jollof rice is one of the most common West African dishes eaten in different African countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Togo, Gambia, and Sierra leone.

Although, each of these African countries has its own recipe for this dish. It is very easy to make, budget-friendly and delicious.

  1. Shakshuka: This dish is easy, healthy, nourishing and filling. It can be eaten as breakfast or any time of day. It is a North African and Middle Eastern dish. It is a combination of simmering tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices and poached eggs.
  2. African Peanut Butter Soup: This soup is easy to make and very delicious. It is made by combining peanut butter, chicken, onion, garlic, stock, tomatoes, pepper, and vegetables.
  3. East African Chapati: This is a flatbread eaten in East African countries like Kenya and Mozambique. The East African chapati is similar to the Indian paratha. It is made with flour, salt, oil and water.
