Cutting Comb (Ilarun)

Peculiar to African hair culture is a three-tailed comb and popularly used because of its effectiveness on the hair. Ilarun( Cutting Comb) can be used to part the hair, pick the hair, and also used to loosen braids. Commonly known as Ilarun in Western Nigeria, Ilarun is a tool that slides through the hair, creating smaller pieces and making a neat line across the scalp. If used properly, it prevents damage to the hair and scalp. Ilarun comes in wooden and plastic forms.
